This is the third of the commissioned toddler dresses, vintage Butterick 3489 from the 1960’s. It is view A with the POCKETS! Check out that pattern matching – what pockets? Oh yeah, they’re there!
It’s striped seersucker – another of my scrap stash busters leftover from a princess seamed button down top I made for myself. It’s lined it with white cotton batiste – even the pockets are lined.
There are these adorable little overall style straps that button at the front shoulder with big white buttons. They’re placed far enough down the straps that I will be able to move them up so she can get some extended wear out of it as a tunic length top next summer.
I loved how simple yet sophisticated this pattern construction was. I highly recommend this pattern if you can get your hands on your own copy.
