Chemo Cap for Avery

A friend of mine has a little girl named Avery who was recently diagnosed with AT/RT brain cancer. On her second birthday, Avery underwent an marathon brain surgery to remove most of the tumor. Now the sweet baby is battling through up to 52 weeks of chemo. I knitted up a little chemo cap for her to keep her little head warm without her hair.
I chose Premier Yarns Cotton Fair (told you I was going to make everything with this stuff) so it is easy to wash, soft, durable, and warm but not too toasty so she can wear it year-round.

I also made a larger one for her 4-year-old big sister so they can have cool matching hats. They like to be matchy-matchy. 🙂
I used the Lacy Baby/Toddler Hat pattern on Ravelry. Check my Rav notes for my adjustments.

If you feel moved to donate to the family, they have a GoFundMe account set up to help with her major medical bills. You can also find her all over the place with #brAvery.
